2022 and the cycle repeats. Why multi-year documentation of swans? Because of their beauty and their perseverance through the long, cold, wet nesting periods and the repeated loss of their young. I missed the birth of the 7 cygnets this year; upon my return 4 weeks later, only 1 remained. Will it defy the odds? UPDATE: much bigger 2 weeks later and still sticking very close to parents, but a few days later, it too was gone.
